The Indian Summer

Yeah, that's an insanely original post title, but who cares when the weather is so blissful?
Happily wearing my "superhero top" by Arya Sense.

The Layers

Early fall layering: trench coat over dress over skirt.
Hanging on to bare legs and/or bare toes whenever possible (i.e., not raining too heavily).

The Rotation

Even with a fairly limited selection of clothing items in black and white only,
the outfit possibilities seem to be endless.

I haven't been wearing much jewelry these days;
some armor on my left wrist felt like a welcome change.
Thanks to Front Row Shop for kindly sending me this cuff bracelet.

The Cold Feet

With the coldest, rainiest summer I can remember nearing its end,
I'm longing for sunshine while wearing thick tops and layers.
(Nevertheless, I'm not giving up sandals just yet ...)

The Slider

So, this is me succumbing to the slider sandal trend.
The clumsy charm of Birkenstock-type sandals never really appealed to me,
but these are a whole different story. Enthralled with their simplicity (form- and function-wise),
I decided to get a pair (despite their current popularity).

Even with these awkward-ish sandals and an oversized top
(I got this one from a second hand shop for a couple of euros),
I felt quite alluring in this get-up
(while matching this high-slit skirt with heels and a tight top would make me feel tacky).

BTW, yesterday marked this blog's 5th anniversary.
Obviously, I don't get slathered in free designer clothes, attend lavish events,
"design" my own fashion lines, or whatever "high-profile" bloggers do these days,
but guess what? I don't really need any of that.
I do it for the joy of it and that's sufficient for me.

The Meant-To-Be Bag

This bag and me, we were meant to be ...

I've been admiring the exquisite rubber handbags by bi.bi (a Croatian brand)
ever since I first stumbled upon them online.
When I finally visited Zagreb again last month,
I couldn't remember the name of the brand nor where their products could be purchased.
I was angry with myself at first for not having done my homework,
but then I told myself: "If it's really meant to be, it will be."
So I relaxed and almost forgot all about the bags.
On my last day in Zagreb, I was walking down the street
when I suddenly noticed a selection of beautiful black and white items in a shop window.
I went in and asked about the bags, describing them to the best of my ability ...
As it turned out, it was their designer I was talking to.
Long story short, it was obviously meant to be.

The Dress-As-Vest

A loose-fitting sleeveless dress that zips up in the front can double as a long vest.

The Return

Feeling like a total n00b after not having blogged for almost a month
(it can be quite frustrating how sometimes "life happens" and the blog gets sidetracked).
Time to kick it up a notch.

Transitioning

Autumn is upon us, whether I want it or not (I don't). As always, I'm not ready to part with summer dresses and sandals, so I'm pairing them with jackets or sweaters to counter the evening chill. I'm gladly jumping on the pinstripe bandwagon with this vintage blazer I got a couple of years ago, not because pinstripe is supposed to be an autumn trend or whatever, but because I've always had a penchant for it. I just hope it doesn't get too popular (or is it too late already?), that's usually quite a turn off for me.

Ghetto No Mo'

These slim silver bracelets are a remnant of my high school hip hop phase. I would wear a fuckton of them on my wrist back then, accompanied by baggy jeans, plaid shirt, and mandatory hoop earrings. I even braided my hair occasionally and went by a ghetto nickname. (I basically thought I was black - true story.) I'm glad I kept the bracelets (along with those hilarious memories), although I guess I'll be wearing them in more subtle ways now - just below my elbows, for example.
