The Great Grays

#1 - I'm quite fond of wearing gray in spring (as previously demonstrated here and here).

#2 - Second hand has been my preferred way of shopping for several years now;
it's fun, inexpensive, sustainable, and from time to time you can find some real gems,
like this perfect little black backpack (just what I was looking for) for a few euros.

The Business-As-Usual

While my warm-season outfits might seem monotonous or repetitive to some (most?) people,

they get even less varied in fall/winter. On a rather warm fall day (like today),

I'll normally go for a black sweatshirt or a thin turtleneck, a black bottom, and a coat;

on the footwear front, nothing beats my #1 sneakers.

The Backpacker

I've been gravitating towards as-simple-as-possible, somewhat androgynous looks these days.

Boyfriend's backpack instead of a bag meets the criteria perfectly.

The Ease

Here's how getting dressed works for me these days (today's example):
I open up the wardrobe, grab a sweater and some pants,
mentally pair the ensemble with the right shoes and bag,
and all that's left for me to do is to put the items on various parts of my body
(which might even take up more time than the actual process of "composing" the outfit*).

* about 15 seconds today

The Find

Just when I thought I had robbed my grandma of all her vintage treasures already, I stumbled upon this coat in her basement and grabbed it without much hesitation. Granted, the color is not my favorite (what is this called anyway, taupe, greige, tan?), but the coat was too good not to give it a try (and hey, at least it's not pink). The moment I put it on, a few associations came to mind, the most notable being "the executive" (fellow die-hard Seinfeld fans will know what I'm talking about) and "the exhibitionist" (no further explanation needed, I reckon). The way I wore it here, it's giving off a bit of an androgynous vibe; on another occasion, I might try it belted, with a skirt and over the knee boots.
