These shoes finally died on me (that's what I get for shopping in that horrendously cheap - and I don't mean that price-wise - store), so I took them back (yes, I always keep the receipt) and chose a very similar pair of lace-ups instead. I give these a year, tops.

I absolutely hate losing an irreplaceable pair of shoes to cheap construction, abuse, or some combination of both. I'm always just too damn impatient to get the soles protected when I first buy them, so my cobbler is left trying to fix ripped leather, cracked soles, and missing heel taps.
There's gotta be a 12 step program for this. At least these boots you got look like they're made of nice leather. They should last more than a year (in theory).
