After breaking the ice last month, here's already February's dose of awesome stylishness. I've been following lovely E's blog since forever; what impresses me the most about it is how she spices up elegant with a touch of whimsy. Everybody, welcome to the

Pretty good, Duck! How 'bout you?

Pajamas! It’s almost bedtime!

Let's get to know you a bit better. What is it that you do in life, apart for the obvious - blogging?
Let’s see … I work. I cook. I horseback ride, when it’s not totally gross outside, like right now. I watch some trashy television, but then I watch some good shows, too, like TopGear (BBC version) and No Reservations.

Happy and healthy. I still haven’t figured out what I want to do when I grow up :-)

These are “as of this minute faves”, because I generally suck at narrowing down favorite things.
painter – Franz Kline
shoes – this one is mean! You know if I pick one, it will hurt the others’ feelings! Right now, the Tory Burch booties seem to be the golden child.
historical era – 1920s
food – my husband’s green chile enchiladas
drink - wine
book – “Lolita” (and pretty much everything else by Nabokov)
song – “Shadow People” by Dr. Dog

Style vs. fashion - how do you define them? Do they essentially mean the same thing or is there a difference?
Definitely two different things. I would define fashion as an art form and style as the method in which fashion is used.

It's such a dynamic and creative industry. It must take endless amounts of energy to establish yourself professionally. I don't like the exploitative side. There seem to be some pretty drastic extremes between those who make the majority of the profits and the many people in the industry who are struggling to make ends meet.

I’ve gotten a few, but I’ve been very lucky. The kind ones outweigh the negative ones by leaps and bounds, so they haven’t bothered me.

What would you never be seen wearing?
Crocs.
Seeing everyone in the same thing would make me sad, because I wouldn’t get any good ideas for my own outfits!

There's been some debate lately about the (ir)relevancy of fashion blogging: they say that we're amateurs, totally vain, that what we're doing isn't of any significance ... How do you respond to that?
I'll believe it when I see fashion blogs start to die off :-) Since I started over 2 years ago, I've seen the number of fashion blogs increase exponentially.
Probably take a spin through the Kübler-Ross model, if I were to be realistic.

Hope so.

Preferably one that wouldn’t get eaten.

Your fave swearword?
Ha! I drop the f-bomb more than I should ...

What's for lunch today/tomorrow?
Trader Joe’s mini tacos.

Not that I can think of. You had good questions :-)

As far as your favorite Duck is concerned, I'm off to Vietnam tomorrow! I'll be back in March ...
